60-second Eligibility Check

Six quick questions confirm whether your project fits the current J-USE call before you spend ~45 minutes on the full application.

1. Is your organisation registered or recognised in Jamaica?

"Recognised" includes informal CBOs that can produce a community leader's letter.

2. Do you have a bank account in your organisation's legal name?

Hard requirement — EFJ cannot disburse funds to personal accounts.

3. Where is your project located?

J-USE 2026 funds projects in seven specific parishes.

4. Is your project a Nature-based Climate Solution (NbCS)?

NbCS = projects that protect, restore or sustainably manage ecosystems to address climate change while delivering biodiversity and human-wellbeing benefits.

5. What's your estimated total project cost?

In Jamaican Dollars (JMD). J-USE 2026 grants up to JMD $15M per project. Larger projects can still apply if they identify co-financing.

6. Can the project be delivered within 12 months?

J-USE-funded projects must complete primary activities within a 12-month implementation window from grant award. Long-term maintenance plans are required separately.

    📅

Not eligible this round — but we want to know about your project

Your project doesn't fit the current J-USE 2026 criteria, but we're building a pipeline for future funding rounds and partnership opportunities. Tell us a bit about your work and we'll keep you posted.

Your details are stored securely in EFJ's grants database and used only to contact you about future funding opportunities. We do not share data with third parties.

      ⚠️

Not eligible — and we can't capture as a future pipeline

Your project doesn't currently meet a hard J-USE eligibility criterion (e.g. no organisational bank account, or not a registered/recognised entity).

        Suggested next steps:

        • If you don't have an organisational bank account, work with a registered partner to apply on your behalf — many J-USE-funded projects are partnerships.
        • If your project isn't nature-based, browse other EFJ grant streams at efj.org.jm.
        • If you're an individual with a strong NbCS idea, find a registered NGO or cooperative partner to host the project.
